This policy explains what Price of a Stamp (priceofastamp.com) collects, why, and who else receives it. If you have questions, email contact@priceofastamp.com.
The short version
Browsing the site is anonymous — we don't ask who you are, and we don't sell or rent personal information to anyone. We do use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising. You only give us personal information when you deliberately hand it over: mailing a letter through our Send Mail tool, subscribing to price alerts, or contacting us.
Cookies and similar technologies
This site uses cookies. Some are set by us, most by the third-party services listed below. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the site's calculators and tools will keep working if you do, though advertising may become less relevant.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you'll be shown a consent choice before advertising cookies are used, through Google's certified consent management platform. You can change that choice at any time using the privacy settings link in that consent dialog.
Analytics
Google Analytics 4 — measures page views, referral sources, approximate location (country/region level), device type, and interactions such as which buttons get clicked. This uses cookies and is how we learn which pages are worth writing more of. You can opt out site-wide with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Vercel Analytics — aggregate traffic and performance measurement provided by our hosting platform. It does not use cookies and does not track visitors across sites.
Advertising
We display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising from many other vendors at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu.
- Google's own practices are described in How Google uses information from sites that use our services.
Third-party ad vendors set their own cookies, which we can neither read nor control. Their privacy policies govern that data, not this one.
Affiliate links
Some links to products — stamps and mailing supplies — are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you buy through them at no extra cost to you. Clicking one hands you off to the retailer, whose own privacy policy then applies. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
Send Mail Instantly
If you use the Send Mail tool to have us print and mail a letter, we necessarily collect what's needed to actually mail it:
- Your letter — either the text you type or the PDF you upload.
- Recipient name and mailing address, and your name and return address.
- Your email address, used to send order confirmations and updates.
This information is stored in our database (hosted by Supabase, in the United States) and is used solely to produce, stamp, and mail your letter. We do not read your letters except as needed to print them or resolve a problem with an order, and we never use their contents for advertising.
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers or our database — we receive only a payment confirmation and the order total. Stripe's handling of your payment data is covered by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Letter files are removed from storage once an order is completed or its checkout session expires. Order records are retained for accounting and support purposes. To request deletion of your order information, email contact@priceofastamp.com.
Price alerts (email newsletter)
If you subscribe to price alerts, your email address is stored with Kit (formerly ConvertKit), our email provider, and used only to send stamp-price updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, which removes you immediately.
Contact form
Our contact page embeds a Google Form. Anything you submit through it goes to Google Forms under Google's Privacy Policy, and reaches us there.
Server logs
Like most websites, our host records standard request data — IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and timestamps — used for security, debugging, and abuse prevention. We do not use these logs to build profiles of individual visitors.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Email contact@priceofastamp.com and we will respond. Regardless of location, you can always unsubscribe from emails, clear or block cookies in your browser, and use the advertising opt-outs linked above.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes to how we handle personal information will be noted here.
